Remember the fabulous fifties, when Ike was President, cars were big, gas was cheap, and families watched the exploits of Lucy and Lassie on their black & white TVs. And two of the leading ladies on the radio were Patti Page and Doris Day.

Take a reminiscent journey back to the fifties as Equity actress and professor Dr. Diane Cypkin presents a concert-lecture titled "A Salute to Patti Page & Doris Day: Songbirds of the 50s" on Sunday, January 13 at 2:00 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road, West Caldwell.

Cypkin will sing the hits of these two iconic artists, accompanied by pianist Lena Panfilova, and share their personal stories to bring their music and their era to life. Some of the songs to be performed include Tennessee Waltz, Doggie in the Window, and Old Cape Cod (sung by Patti Page) as well as Que Sera Sera, Secret Love and It's Magic (sung by Doris Day).

This program, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. To sign-up, call the Library at 973-226-5441 or sign-up online @ http://tinyurl.com/WCPL-Events.
