Mayor Robert Jackson yesterday announced that he is reappointing Anne Mernin and Jessica DeKoninck to the Montclair Board of Education.

“I believe that their experience and perspectives will be invaluable in the search for the next Superintendent,” said Mayor Jackson in a letter to the Board's Interim Business Manager Steve DiGeronimo.

In the letter the Mayor recognizes that, while there have been occasional disagreements among Board members, Ms. DeKoninck and Ms. Mernin were "integrally involve din the selection of two outstanding interim leaders for our schools, i.e. Mr. Bolandi and Dr. Pinsak."

"I feel that this Board has made some superior personnel decisions and the most important decision to be made in the near future is our new Superintendent. I want to 'keep the gang together' for this crucial call. I am confident that Anne and Jessica, working collaboratively with the other five members, will contribute to making another outstanding choice," said the Mayor.

Ms. DeKoninck has served on the Board since 2014 and is the current president; Ms. Mernin, who is the current Vice President, has served since 2013.
