Birthworks International announces Doula Training Workshop

If you believe that giving birth is a magical experience that can also be a joyful, natural one, then this workshop will be for you. Birthworks International invites you to join them in an incredible Doula Training Workshop in Medford N.J. from March 29 - 31. Don't miss leaders in the field who will educate you and help you decide if you would like certification so that you can be a Doula. Or, if you would like to learn the process and all it entails, you can also participate in the workshop and then decide if this path is right for you.

The workshop is experiential and interactive and is filled with music, ceremony, joy, and healing. We are confident that you will find it a meaningful experience that touches you deeply inside, offering personal self -growth. We believe that you will find the workshop invaluable and motivating for the completion of your prerequisite materials. The workshop is valid towards certification for three years. We look forward to meeting you and hope that you feel inspired to complete your BirthWorks doula certification and begin serving women in birth.

Each day the workshop will begin at 9:00am and finish at 6:00pm with breaks short morning and afternoon breaks. The workshop will be facilitated by Cathy Daub, president of BirthWorks International. During workshop breaks, take a leisurely stroll down by the lake just five minutes walk from the workshop location. Continue over a covered bridge and follow the trail through the woods back to the workshop.

Day 2 Certification process, Four Principles of Optimal Pelvic Positioning with application to labor positions, Bones of the pelvis and their functions in labor, Human Values in Birth, Multisensory Visualization – Finding a Safe Place to Birth, Common Sense Nutrition, Risk factors of late pregnancy, Principles of massage.

Day 3 Effective communication with clients, Role plays, Immediate postpartum, Mother-Baby Skin-to-Skin Contact, Primal Health, Grieving and Healing, Reframing pain in Labor, Multi -Sensory Visualization Techniques, Mother/Daughter relationships, Marketing your doula business.

About President and founder of Birthworks International Cathy Daub:

In 1981, Cathy Daub, PT designed and taught the first BirthWorks Childbirth Education classes in New Jersey, USA at a time when women were pressured into cesarean births. Cathy has been facilitating childbirth education and doula workshops in the USA and overseas over the last 30 years.
