The Historical Society of West Caldwell will present a fascinating slide-lecture titled "Candid Snapshots of Caldwell, circa 1900" on Wednesday, March 27 at 6:30 pm in the Community Room of the West Caldwell Public Library, 30 Clinton Road.

Beverly Crifasi, Vice President of the Historical Society of West Caldwell, will present this intriguing slide-lecture focusing on candid photographs (developed from glass negatives) of prominent buildings, residential properties and people in Caldwell circa 1900. Over more than a century has passed since these pictures were captured, but most of the 200 glass negatives (donated to the Historical Society) are in good condition and have been scanned to create digital images.

Some of the prominent buildings featured include the original Caldwell High School on Academy Road, the Monomonock Inn, a confectionery and tobacco shop with a sign reading "S.E. Gould Hillside Pavilion, and the F.R. Cook Funeral Home (now the American Legion building).

This program, sponsored by the Historical Society of West Caldwell, is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. To sign-up, call the Library at 973-226-5441 or sign-up online at https://bccls.libcal.com/event/5163551.
