With generous funding from the New Jersey Healthy Communities Network grant, the Montclair Department of Health and Human Services, HOMECorp, and Montclair Community Farms will be sponsoring a series of free workshops throughout the year. Upcoming Works include:

•Yes, even YOU can Compost! Montclair's local compost expert will demystify composting in any living situation. Saturday, June 16th from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at Montclair Community Farms, 108 Orange Road, Montclair.

•Slow Foods Documentary: Deeply Rooted & Tasting after film! Learn of this renowned Louisiana seed saver & champion of biodiversity. Hear about ancient growing techniques, recipes & folktales & much more. Saturday, July 21 from 6 to 8 pm in the lower level of the Crane House & Historic YWCA, 110 Orange Road, Montclair.

•Plant Part Salad Preparation & Pull up a Plate! Celebrate the roots, shoots, leaves, seeds & flowers of the season's harvest with this exciting salad that gets the whole audience involved! Saturday, August 18 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at HOMECorp, 17 Talbot Street, Montclair.

•Seed Saving & Starting our 4-H Montclair Community Seed Library. Every fruit & vegetable holds future gardens inside it. Come learn where to find them and how to keep them safe for the generations to come! Saturday, September 15 from 2 to 4 pm. In the Hearth Kitchen in back of the Crane House & Historic YWCA, 110 Orange Road, Montclair.

The Montclair Community Farms serve as hands-on resources that engage and educate the community and youth farmers in urban farming, sustainable agriculture, affordable food access, and healthy food and lifestyle choices.
