In preparation for the Fall Sports Season, Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci and the Nutley Department of Parks & Recreation have scheduled the Rutgers Safety Clinic, to ensure all coaches are prepared for that exciting first practice.

With the wide range of sports activities offered by the Nutley Department of Parks and Recreation, it is essential that our volunteers be supplied with the information that will allow them to evaluate and determine solutions for specific situations. The Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic (Sports Awareness for Educating Today's Youth) is a three-hour orientation program that meets the "Minimum Standards for Volunteer Coaches Safety Orientation and Training Skills Programs” and provides partial civil immunity protection to volunteer coaches under the "Little League Law" .

This program will assist coaches and volunteers in building the knowledge and proficiency needed to manage each individual sport and deal with various scenarios. “The major focus of this clinic is to promote coaches to do the best job possible while developing our children’s abilities” stated Commissioner Mauro G. Tucci. In order to prevent serious injuries we need to educate residents to the best of our ability.

The Clinic has been scheduled for August 8, 2017 at the Parks and Recreation Department located at 44 Park Ave. The fee for this class is $30.00 per person. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. and the class will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. This program is open to Nutley Residents only. Pre-registration is required for this course.
