Join Studio Montclair (SMI) for a talk with Todd Lambrix, the curator for our current exhibit, "Making as Thinking," on Sunday, March 18 at 2pm at the Studio Montclair Gallery, 127 Bloomfield Avenue, Montclair, NJ.

The show features work in a variety of visual media including sculpture, painting, drawing, and mixed media. All of the artwork--whether abstract, representational, surreal, or whimsical--is infused with a sense of mystery and purpose that invites multiple viewings.

Explains curator Todd Lambrix, "As I chose the work, I could almost see the process or feel the emotion propelling the making. This making seems to function as both the process and the thinking, and the resulting works have a layered, open flexibility to them. Ultimately, this body of work creates a narrative that has an undeniable connection rooted in a collective unconscious. It is hopeful and bleak, somber and energetic, searching yet grounded."
