A surprise gift from the IRS will take some of the last-minute stress from many American's lives this weekend. Tax day is usually April 15, but since this fearsome deadline falls on a Saturday and also the day before Easter, the IRS announced you can submit your taxes by Tuesday, April 18.

Another deciding factor in adding a few days to the deadline is that Washington, D.C. has a holiday this Monday, April 17: Emancipation Day. Emancipation Day celebrated the same date in 1862, when over 3,000 slaves were freed in the District of Columbia.

So emancipate your tax stress for a few more days, but be sure to file your taxes by Tuesday, April 18.
