The township of Montclair just issued an alert that the water in town is safe, but may have "a smell or odor".
The North Jersey District Water Supply Commission notified the township of an issue. What that issue is not clear as of this time.

The issue should be resolved by tomorrow according to the alert.
The North Jersey District Water Supply Commission (NJDWSC) is organized and exists pursuant to N.J.S.A. 58:5-1 et. seq. and is a public body politic formed by its member municipalities . The NJDWSC was established in 1916 and is statutorily authorized to develop, acquire, and operate a water supply system for use by any municipality in the "North Jersey District”, defined as the 12 northernmost counties of the state of New Jersey.
Today, the NJDWSC oversees the operation of the largest regional water supply in the State of New Jersey, including more than 95-square-miles of watershed area, two major reservoirs, two river-diversion pumping stations, and a 210-million gallon / day (MGD) water filtration plant. At peak capacity, the NJDWSC's facilities can serve the water needs of more than three million people in Northern New Jersey.
